Floral Celebration

This card is undeniably feminine. The flowers, the curves, the pink and purple. It’s a girly card. Perhaps a good card for a bride on her wedding day.

I started by creating a card base out of the pink card. I then took a piece of white of the same size and used my craft knife to cut the curved border into it.

The flowers I use all come from Altenew’s Brush Art Florals. I used the two smaller roses to create a pattern onto the pink and heat embossed it in white. I then used the largest rose and stamped it with purple pigment ink before heat embossing with clear embossing powder. I used gold to heat emboss my sentiment, which comes from Altenew’s Super Script.

Finally I used foam tape on the back of the white panel and adhered it onto the card base.

I’ll be honest, I initially wasn’t keen on this card. I couldn’t even put my finger on why. I didn’t have any problems making it. The elements all came together as I had planned. And yet I wasn’t happy with it. Perhaps it was the colour, or the hyper-femininity of it? They’re not usually my style. Whatever it was, a day later and it has grown on me. I think perhaps I do like it after all.
