Today’s contribution to the Winter Coffee Lovers hop is definitely cocoa and not coffee. At least, I’ve never known people put marshmallows in coffee. Marshmallows in hot chocolate on the other hand, that’s yummy. And aren’t the marshmallows cute?!
The starting point for this card was, of course, the digi. It is an image from Sweet Escape and it is a freebie available in this year’s Kit and Clowder advent calendar. I printed it onto some alcohol marker friendly card then coloured it in with some Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers as well as Yosoo alcohol markers. I did have some trouble with the shading on the mug because my lightest grey was still a bit darker than I would prefer. I also messed up slightly on the scarf, but I’m ignoring that for the sake of my sanity…! If I didn’t ignore it, I’d want to start over, and I don’t have time for that!
Once all the colouring was completed I carefully fussy cut the image out. It’s a fairly simple image to cut, with the most intricate part being the ends of the scarf, and even those are fairly easy. I used my craft knife to get the centre of the handle.
After digging through my stash of papers I decided to use a red tartan (plaid) pattern for my background – it’s just like a lovely warm blanket! I worked out where I wanted to place the image then white heat embossed a sentiment just below it. I adhered the image to the patterned paper with double-sided tape, then used the same to attach the panel to the grey card base, leaving a slight reveal on all sides.
This was a fairly simple card to make, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. And given how much of a rush I have with finishing cards and presents to send to England before the deadline (Friday!) quick is good! The only problem is that it makes me want a hot chocolate with marshmallows in it…

So cute. I think you are being to critical. I looked at the scarf and couldn’t even see where you “messed up” all I saw was cuteness and adorableness.
