Hello Science – TMR 81

This fortnight over at The Male Room we’re looking for space and science themed masculine cards. I went for a science theme for my card, using a fun image from The Paper Shelter. I kept this card very quick and simple, with very little extra embellishment.

I started by printing the Science! digi stamp from The Paper Shelter onto some alcohol marker friendly paper. I then used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers and Yosoo alcohol markers to colour in the image.  I kept the scientist herself fairly straightforward, with a white labcoat and brown hair, but played around with more interesting colours for the various concoctions in the test tubes.

Once the colouring was completed I trimmed down the panel and adhered it to a yellow card base. I stamped a sentiment from Avery Elle’s Petal Panel (retired) and adhered that in a strip alongside the image. As a final touch I added Glossy Accents to all the glass elements of the image.

As I said in my introduction, I kept this card quite simple. Adding mats to the image and sentiment panel would have been a quick way to kick it up a notch. A more elaborate way would have been to add some kind of background element to the image. I may well do that in future, but this time I just wanted something quick and easy to put together.
