Craftin Desert Divas | Santa Mug | Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

The Coffee Lovers Fall/Winter blog hop has been going for several days already, and I’m only just getting around to entering! Actually it will be ending tomorrow already, so I really have left it rather late. I made this card a little while ago in readiness for the hop, but life happened and I’ve only just got around to blogging it now. If you’re not familiar with the hop, definitely check it out. I started by shrinking the Santa Mug image to be quite small, adjusting it to be “washed out” and creating a pattern all over my background. I filled in some of the gaps using the “Ho! Ho! Ho!” sentiment from Ho Ho Ho Santa. I then added a larger copy of the Santa Mug over the top along with a sentiment from Gingerbread Train. I then printed the arrangement directly onto my white card base.

For the colouring I used my Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers. I kept the colour scheme very simple with red for the mug, inside of the mouth, and stripes on the candy cane. I then added shading to all my white elements. I coloured the skin of the Santa with my go-to combination.

I added interest to my colouring my using my white gel pen to add some highlights. Finally I added some Simply White Nuvo Drops to the pattern in the background, completing my card.

I had a lot of fun with the design of this card, and I’m really happy with the colouring. You may have seen this card already as it was on the Craftin Desert Divas blog when the Coffee hop went live.
