CIC 468 | Be Amazing | Inspirational Quotes Reminder | All Dressed Up

Have you joined in with the current Cupcake Inspiration Challenge? Our theme is inspirational quotes, and the challenge is now halfway through. Today I’m sharing my second DT project to hopefully inspire you. You can see the first one I made here.

As with my first card I began by arranging my chosen digi stamp, which is Spring Walks, along with my typed out quote. I then printed them directly onto my card base.

I used Spectrum Noir Illustrator markers to colour the image in. I started with her skin, then went with brunette hair. As I often do I struggled a bit with the hair but I’m fairly happy with the end result. I then coloured her shoes and top blue and gave her white jeans by adding some grey shading. I used yellow for the flower in her hair which I repeated for some of the other flowers too. The rest of the flowers I did red, with a touch of green for the leaves. I repeated the red on one of the dogs’ collars, and used blue for the other. I went brown for both of the dogs, but slightly different shades. Finally I added a touch of grounding with the same green I had used for the leaves.

Initially I intended to leave the card at that point, buy I decided to add some interest by embossing the corner dies from Love From Lizi’s Atta Gril die set into opposite corners of the card.

I’m quite proud of this card. I think the colouring turned out really well. Although I did notice when editing the photos that I missed a piece of her hair – did you spot it? I think the sentiment works well with the image, and is very appropriate for our challenge. And the dry embossed corners finish the card really nicely.
