Bunny Bookmark Card – Easter Series 2018

I’ve been having so much fun playing with the Your Next Stamp Cute Cat Bookmark dies! Since making the cats I had a play with the addon dies to make four more adorable animals. I then decided to turn the rabbit into an Easter card.

I started by creating the bunny. I used the YNS Cute Cat Bookmark and Cute Animals Add Ons dies with alchol marker friendly card stock, then coloured in the elements with my Spectrum Noir markers. I created a panel of tone-on-tone pink using the Simon Says Stamp Mod Flower background stamp with some Delicata Pink Shimmer ink onto some pink paper. I then used a couple of Sizzix Hexagon dies to cut out a frame. I didn’t originally intend to use the inner portion that was die cut out, but in the end I decided I would use it along with the frame.

I worked out how I wanted the layout of my card to be, then picked a sentiment to add to the card. The sentiment I chose comes from the Simon Says Stamp Easter Greetings stamp set. I again used the Delicata ink.

I used double-sided tape to adhere the hexagon panel to the card base, then popped up the frame with foam tape. I made sure to leave the bottom portion of the frame without tape to make sure there was space to slip the bunny inside.

I’m pretty happy with this card. I think the colours worked really nicely. I could have done a better job of adhering the pink panels into place, but that’s a minor quibble. I didn’t add any indication to this card that the bunny can be removed and used as a bookmark, but that can always be written alongside the message on the inside of the card.
