Playing with sketches can be a lot of fun. They’re a great jumping off point for card designs. One thing I love about them is that they can be approached in a literal or more interpretive manner, depending on how you feel at the time. Here I have done one of each.

This week at Watercooler Wednesdays Heidi is hosting our all about occasions challenge! And given that today is Valentine’s I decided to share a set of Valentine’s notecards I created with the Simon Says Stamp Foodie Friends stamp set, which came in the recent Valentine’s card kit.

When I had the idea for this card I didn’t remember that I’d made a similar one before, about 9 months ago. Comparing the two I definitely prefer this one, but then I’d only been making cards for a few months when I did the previous one, and I’ve definitely improved with time and practice.
